Plot In an attempt to restore Cordelia's memory, Lorne accidentally reverses everyone's memory to making them think they are 17 and on a vampire chase. When they find out Angel is a vampire, everyone sets out to get him. As Cordelia's memory is revived, a demon inside her is awakened.
Trivia * The gang's memory reverts back to before any of them met. Cordelia, seeing Angel for the first time, says "Hello, salty goodness." She said the same line the first time she saw him on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1997) * Wesley mentions a test where a powerless slayer is locked in a house with a rabid vampire. This is a reference to the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1997) episode "Helpless" in Season 3.
Goofs * Continuity: When Connor appeared as a teenager in season 3, it is mentioned that he is sixteen years old, but in this episode, Cordelia says he is 18. It's impossible for him to have aged two years in a span of roughly three months.

Episode 6, Season 4 Title: "Spin the Bottle"
Written & Directed by: Joss Whedon Original Air Date: 10 November 2002
Teaser:
In a Los Angeles nightclub, Lorne is entertaining the crowd with "Memories" from The Way We Were and spinning a tale to his audience about Cordelia's road to recovery sprinkled with magic.
Lorne (Voice Over): It starts with the kid. Well, actually it really starts here . . . We see Cordy and Angel in the courtyard once again, as he admits he doesn't know the answer to her question: "Were we in love?" He recalls the night that they were supposed to meet in Malibu by her request but he does say that she is his dearest friend and wants her back. Cordy is frustrated with her amnesia and Angel promises to bring her back just as Lorne walks in with an option of a memory spell provided by one of his clients; guaranteed to return Cordy to the way she was.
Back at the nightclub, Lorne interjects in this part of the story and admits, "So I'm an idiot! What are you? Perfect?"
Act I:
Lorne (VO): Well, the fact is I had every reason to believe the spell would work and it did after a fashion . . . what happened during it and what came after . . . Cordy and Angel listen to Lorne's explanation but Angel is reluctant as Cordy jumps at the chance to have her memory back. Lorne adds that he only needs to 'gather the six'. Angel isn't liking it.
Across town, Wesley is at his apartment testing out a retractable sword attached to his arm. He pays his man for it and picks up his ringing phone to find it's Lorne, asking him to be a part of the recovery spell. He inquiries after Fred and promises to be there right away.
At the Hyperion, Angel knocks on Fred's door and we find that she and Gunn have not been able to sleep and she seems tense.
Downstairs, Lorne prepares the materials for the spell, he has set up candles and the materials necessary on the floor as Fred, Angel, and Gunn join him, and Wesley as well. Wes quickly checks on Fred and she informs him that, "It's done." Gunn watches the exchange carefully. Lorne (VO): I didn't know that a couple of hours ago Fred had tried to kill her evil professor by opening a portal. Gunn didn't know that Wesley had helped her. Wesley didn't know Gunn had killed the guy himself to save Fred from becoming a killer and Fred didn't know that Gunn was right then figuring out that Wesley had helped her try.
In Cordy's bedroom, she comes out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel just as Angel comes in to check on her. They talk about Conner and Angel lets her know that the spell is almost ready. Cordy points out that Angel is quite comfortable walking into her room without knocking. Cordy will soon know all the answers.
In the AI office, Wesley fetches the bottle for the spell and finds Gunn sitting in the dark thinking. He reflects that Wesley and Fred are perhaps kindred spirits since they are smart and it takes smarts to kill. He knows that Wes is there for Fred and lets his rival know it but Wes doesn't back down. Gunn warns him to keep his distance and suddenly finds Wes's hidden wrist weapon right beneath his neck. Gunn gets the point and asks what happened to his old crewmember, Wesley sardonically responds, "I had my throat cut and all my friends abandoned me."
Lorne is ready and everybody sits around the circle on the floor holding hands as the bottle spins. Light and mist swirl about the room and everyone gets a little magic inside of them. They are dazed and start to stagger around the lobby. Lorne passes out behind the office counter, while Fred throws up, Cordy freaks out and breaks the bottle, immediately stalling the spell before it's done and all recover quickly. Cordy doesn't seem to know anyone in the room and believes she is a victim of a sophomore hazing prank. Cordelia Chase of Sunnydale High? She sees Angel and immediately changes her tune, "Hello salty goodness!"
Act II:
In the Hyperion lobby, our heroes are confused and Wesley's burgeoning researcher mind is putting the clues together. Cordy is a high school student in Sunnydale; Fred is in high school in San Antonio, while Wesley is Head Boy at the Watcher's Academy in Southern Hampshire, England. Gunn seems to be all-streetwise with no schooling and showing some attitude. Angel introduces himself as Liam, from Ireland (minus his accent) and considers the people before him to be "mad". Wes believes they are victims of a "nefarious scheme", while Fred thinks it's a government conspiracy. Wes tries to order Gunn but he's not having any until Wes tries his lackey version of karate discovering that he has a wooden stake up his sleeve from the weapon latched to his arm ~ a clue! They find Lorne, still unconscious, behind the counter and Liam thinks it's the devil.
In a dark alley, Conner fights two vampires. One runs off, while the other gets dusted. The girl he has saved is grateful and offers him a "nice reward" but only if he has fifty bucks. He doesn't know what that is for and she realizes Conner doesn't have it and walks away.
Lorne (VO): Classy girl! And poor Conner, engine revving and stuck in park. Yeah, well, enough of him. In the meanwhile guess what I'm doing for fun? In the middle of the lobby, we find Wesley securing Lorne to a chair with duct tape. Cordy points out that a guy with horns and wooden stakes doesn't seem to freak out Gunn or Wesley and things get stranger when Angel and Fred discover the weapons cabinet as she asks him if he has any 'weed'. Wes finally has something to reveal but Gunn beats him to the punch: Vampires exist and are abundant in LA. Wes and Gunn end up in a wrestling match, and Angel is entertained by the Englishman fighting the Slave until Cordy breaks them up and asks for Wesley's theory. According to Watcher Academy stories, a test exists in which people are locked in a house with a vampire and they must kill it before it kills them. They conclude that if they succeed they will return from their former teen lives; so they quickly gather weapons, split up to find the vampire and kill it and now Fred really wants to score some weed.
Upstairs, Cordy and Angel enter a room with a radio on and Angel thinks there are little men singing inside. Angel wants a cup of ale and apologizes for acting so "womanish." She sighs and talks about danger while Angel's face turns vamp for a second as he gazes at her neck. He excuses himself to go into the bathroom and claims he's invisible when he doesn't find a reflection in the mirror but Cordy reassures him the opposite. He goes back inside and turns vamp face and feels the bumps on his face and long teeth. Vamp face, human face, vamp face, human face. Angel whimpers, "I'm a vampire! They're gonna kill me!"
Act III:
In the night club, Lorne continues his story for the audience: "Is there anything worse than feeling like your all alone and that you're the only person who thinks the way you do and if anyone else found out they'd drive a pointy thing through your heart? And as for our fearless vampire killers . . ."
Cordy and Liam continue their search upstairs, while down in the kitchen, Gunn, Wes and Fred--with weapons in hand--continue with no luck and they turn back.
Moments later, the entire crew returns to the lobby as Angel runs out the front door; shredding Wesley's theory that they are all locked in.
Outside, Angel faces a terrible reality: LA traffic. And he quickly runs back inside.
Safe inside once again, Angel reports hundreds of 'shiny screaming demons'. No one wants to continue searching and Wes believes that the vampire is one of them, now Angel is getting very, very nervous. Wes surprises Gunn with a cross and they all take a turn at touching it. Fred passes it to Angel, as it begins to burn him he quickly points at Lorne, who is waking up, to distracts them from his vampire status. Lorne asks about Cordy and realizes something went wrong with the spell. They want to know who the vampire is and Lorne unknowingly nods to Angel, who immediately punches him, hard.
Gunn picks up a fighting axe while Wes keeps shaking his arms in the hopes of unveiling his retractable weapon but a wooden stake flies out and into Angel's side. Gunn attacks from behind and Angel's instincts kick in and so does his vamp face. He's going to go for the girls first! Cordy and Fred run as Wes finally manages to take his sword out and attacks Angel, but he's no match.
Moments later, Cordy runs to the basement but Angel captures her. She uses her super power and screams. Out of nowhere, Conner tackles Angel to the floor as Wesley trips down the stairs. Conner throws Angel through a glass window and falls into the kitchen. Cordy is so grateful that she promises Conner a "big reward" if he kills "that freak." Conner asks if she is serious and Cordy assures him, "Hoo Doggy!"
Act IV:
In the kitchen, Conner catches up and attacks Angel, who is tired of being bullied and fights back.
Up in the lobby, Fred finds Gunn is asleep behind the counter and Lorne explains to Fred that they tried a spell that went wrong. The bottle is broken but there is still a way to fix things. He convinces Fred to look into her heart and trust him.
In the kitchen, Conner realizes something strange is going on when Angel remarks that Conner is stronger than the rest. Angel mouths off on his self-righteous father and Conner reveals his father is the same. Angel doesn't want to fight, instead he wants to relieve his "sinful urges" with the "Chase girl" and Conner warns him to stay away from her. fighting intensifies.
In the lobby, Lorne is free from his binds and has worked some ingredients in a bowl and lightly gives Fred a taste. She closes her eyes and returns to the Fred we know. Suddenly, Gunn tries to knock out Lorne from behind as Fred tries to stop him.
The fighting finally ends with Conner on the floor and Angel walks away but Conner is happy that he almost defeated him. Before a second fight can begin Fred pops in and asks them to stop. Lorne (VO): So alls' well that ends well right kiddies?
Awhile later, we find that Lorne has recovered everyone's memory and Cordy runs off to her room.
Lorne (VO): It went more like this . . . Cordy is fed the recovery potion and closes her eyes to see a flash of the future: The Apocalypse in the form of two red demonic eyes. She staggers back at the images in her head and the true knowledge of their fates.
In the nightclub, Lorne concludes his story and puts on his jacket despite the audience wanting to know more. He advises the audience to hug their families while they still can and to stay away from magic.
In one of the Hyperion hallway, Angel catches up to Cordy, knowing she must be scared. Cordy admits to remembering 'all' of it and asks to be alone. Angel has one question for her, "Were we in love?" Unlike him, she does have an answer, "We were," and continues to her room.
The sun is shining outside as Lorne steps out of the club to face what is to come for all of them.
