here we can discuss all harry potter movies.
i watch it last week it was on tv i saw 1 2 and 4.
i mist 3 because other movies that my mom and dad wanna to watch.
and it was second christmas day or boxing dat for others, so i stayed downstairs.

the films were all pretty good. i've never got around to reading the books but probably will one day. Love Hagrid, just wanna give him a big hug whenever he comes on screen lol

I've read the books, the first four in Dutch and then all of them in English.
The movies are good, great even... BUT the books are better and give a much broader storyline.

YEAH!!! I think the English ones are better. The humor in them is better displayed than in the translated books. And the names are the same as in the movies  |

they change the names in the dutch versions? thats a bit odd. i wonder why they do that?

I like the movies and the books.. ;D no idea why they translate the names or make it sound a bit like how it is pronounced in english...I think they think it is easier to read for dutch children when the names are kind of translated..some are translated or a bit different but if you say it out loud it is just the same as the original. For example: In english: Snape ---- In dutch: Sneep but if you say the dutch name out loud it sounds just like the english version Okay I stop ranting now  |

Since I read the first 4 books in Dutch before starting to read them in English (my mum has them in Dutch and before I was going to buy the English ones I wanted to know if I would like it), it was really weird to read the names in English. Also it keeps being weird when you see the movie with Dutch subtitles... I always prefer the English subs, just because the translations are OK (haha no translation needed so I don't need to fuss about all the errors there are in the Dutch ones). |

I always prefer the English subs, just because the translations are OK (haha no translation needed so I don't need to fuss about all the errors there are in the Dutch ones). Oooooh yeah, don't you just hate that with dutch subtitles. I have seen some weird mistakes in subtitles and also read really weird translations in several books. Makes you wonder where (if ever) the people that translated it went to school?!?!? |

That is the worst thing about Dutch subtitles: OR they are wrong, or they translate just a bit of all that's been said... And that is also the reason I prefer reading the books in original English. No crappy translations.
Ah well, back to the Harry Potter movies... I can't wait to see what they make of the 6th movie, never mind what they will make of the last one...
